Yup I'm down another .4 pounds so I'm 1.6 below my 'steak day' weight. Only .6 from my LDW. I'm getting ready to start Round 2. I start loading on Friday and since I'm doing my next round for 40 days, I'm loading for 2 1/2 days, only because it's our anniversary. We're having a family dinner on Friday night, then my husband and I are going out of town Saturday night, then it's home for a big family superbowl party on Sunday. That's why it's going to be 2 1/2 days instead of 2. I'm really looking forward to being on the HCG again. It's almost addictive, seeing just how much weight you can lose. Especially now that I have a better handle on maintenance, I'll be better prepared next time.
I was very tired today and it's really reflected in how little I ate. Since I'm typically not very hungry, I have to keep on top of my meals to get my calories up where they are suppose to be, but today I just didn't have the energy. So my calories are on the low side today. I'm hoping it won't show up in a bad way tomorrow!

Wow, the steak day really worked. I am down 1.8 pounds, which puts me a pound below my "oh my word I have to do another steak day' weight!
We had company over tonight, which was a lot of fun. I planned the menu so I wouldn't be tempted to cheat. Although, I was sorely tempted with the Boston Cream pie.....but my will power won out! I did however try mashed potatoes for the first time since starting the HCG protocol. They were homemade using yukon gold potatoes, 1% milk and butter, with the skins on and garnished with green onions. Since it's been past the first 3 week of maintenance, I'm hoping I can handle it. I guess the scales tomorrow will tell the tale!
We didn't eat lunch until about 1:30 and then got busy visiting and playing games that I didn't have an afternoon snack. By the time our comapny left at 6:00 and I had some dinner there was no way I was having an after dinner snack either. So my calories are a bit on the low side today. While I was cooking and my family and friends were munching on chips and salsa, I ate fresh cherries, it really helped!

Upped my calories to over 1900 yesterday and lost .2 pounds today. So I'm going to do a little experiment. Today I was shooting for over 2000, just to see what would happen. Also, went to the doctor yesterday because of this infection in my back and found that it isn't gone so I have to do another round of antibiotics....this time for 10 day! The good news is that they have decided not to do surgery, at least not right now. They want the infection to be totally cleared up and then for the site to completely heal. They'll take another look at it in April when I go in for my check-up. Of course, I'm hoping for no surgery!
Had kind of a funky day. Wasn't hungry after breakfast so I nibbled more for lunch, then had an early dinner, then had 2 after dinner snacks. One was more like desert.

Ham and Cheese Omelet

1 oz colby jack cheese

The calories in the trail mix alone was over 300. By the way.....I finished off the last of the trail mix today and I'm not buying anymore. The stuffs addicting! I get the no sugar added kind, but the dehydrated fruit is oh so sweet.

1/4 c montery jack cheese
I sauteed the mushrooms and elk in butter than added Bragg's amino acids and topped it with montery jack cheese.

This post is for Thursday, January 27th. Again, another day without a gain and I had over 1,700 calories yesterday! Whoo hoo!!!! I'm going to shoot for more calories today and see what happens tomorrow. I only have one more week on maintenance and then I start Round 2. I am soooo looking forward to getting back on protocol and dropping the rest of the weight I need to lose. I think round 2 should do it for me. I's like to lose 30 more pounds, which will put me down to less that what I weighed when my husband and I got married 12 years ago. I'd be happy with a 25 pound loss, which shouldn't be too hard, since I lost 17.6 pounds in 21 days I should be able to lose at least 25 in 40 days.

I've gotten a little behind in my post, so this post is for Wednesday, January 26th. I think my weight has finally stabalized. I'm 1.5 over my LDW, which is still below my 2 pound gain limit and I'm eating ALOT!!! I have to plan my meals and snacks, otherwise it would be very easy not to eat, because I'm really not hungry. I haven't been hungry since I started the HCG program. To go from eating 500 calories a day to eating close to 1900 and either losing or staying the same is crazy! I keep expecting to gain......so we'll see what tomorrow brings!

Okay......so this is fascinating! I'm eating more than I have on maintenance and I'm still losing weight???? Considering I'm a lifetime dieter, this just goes against everything I've held sacred. To lose weight you have to not eat anything.......like forever!!! Talk about your dieting taboos. I guess we'll see if it holds.....

I stuffed myself yesterday and got my calories up to over 1900 and my weight stayed the same. No change. I didn't gain or lose. Today I've done a little over 1700, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. I may do an apple day tomorrow, since I'm over my 2 pound limit by a pound. All I know is that the steak days haven't been working for me at all, but then it may be because my calories were too low to start with.

Plus it's lower in calories. Regular plain yogurt only has about 8g of protein in it. Knudsen's 2% cottage cheese has 14 g per 1/2 cup, so it's close if you have a whole cup. That's why I've been eating a lot of greek yogurt lately.

Trying something different today to see if it will work since the steak day didn't. Instead of losing weight with the steak day I've managed to gain. My husband thinks it's because I'm not eating enough. So he asked me to give it one more day and try going for the gusto. He wanted me to shoot for 2,000 calories today but I only made it to a little over 1,600. And I may have padded that with the trail mix. I'm hoping that it will cause me to drop some tomorrow, if not I'm going to try an apple day, since the steak days aren't working for me!

Steak day didn't work at all. I gained instead of loosing. What's with that!!! Today I'm eating normal to see what happens. I just can't do multiple steak days in a row. My husband feels like my problem is that I'm not eating enough, so after dinner I had cottage cheese and fresh pineapple. Managed to up my calories to about 1,200 today. The good news is that I finished my antibiotics today, so I'm hoping I will be feeling better tomorrow. I just wish this stuff on my back would quit oozing!

Up .2 from yesterday, but still below my 2 pound limit. I'm hoping I stay that way for a few more days. I'm still not up to doing another steak day this soon. My backs getting better but still hurts alot. Thankfully the advil and tylenol is working to ease the pain. The antibiotics are definitely what's making me sick. I forgot to take my afternoon dose until 4 and was thinking, man I'm feeling alot better. Start feeling lousy again shortly after taking the antibiotics and acidophiles. Thankfully I only have two more days. I just hope it's long enough to get rid of this infection! I think I had too much carbs today in the way of fruit, but blueberries are on sale right now and I can't resist them!

Okay....so I'm within 1/2 pound of my 'steak day' limit of 2 pounds. Whatever I did yesterday worked so I'm hoping today doesn't add back to the scale. Have I mentioned that I'm tired of meat! Today I had more eggs and cheese. We'll see how I do tomorrow.

My daughter made these for lunch. She roasted the chile's in the oven then peeled them, added colby-jack cheese then dipped them in an egg mixture (no flour) and fried them in a little olive oil. I couldn't find anything that gave an accurate calorie count, since they were small and she cut down on the cheese, so I guessed. I'm hoping I am close.

Gain 2 POUNDS!!!!!
That's 3 1/2 pounds over my LDW. Sooooo..... guess what today was......you guessed it. Steak Day! I'm not sure what's going on but I was shocked a the weight gain, especially since I was so good yesterday. Either I've eaten something I have a food sensitivity too or this staff infection is messing with me. I've decided to cut out almonds and dairy for a couple of days and then add them back one at a time to see if that works. If its not that then it may be the medicine I'm on. What with the antibiotics, acidophiles and vicodin, who knows what's going on in my system! I've been using a potato poultice on my back to draw the infection out of the muscles. That might also be part of the problem. I'm stumped right now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better weigh in day! I really don't want to do 2 steak days in a row.
No breakfast or lunch, although I did up my water intake today to 3 liters and had several cups of tea and coffee through out the day sweetened with stevia. By the way, my favorite for fruity teas is apricot nectar.

I have a feeling that tomorrow may be another steak day. Wasn't feeling very well today. I have a staff infection due to cyst on my back that had gotten infected. So I'm on antibiotics and pain medication. Babysat my grandson today.....which is always a joy. Hands down I have the sweetest grandson in the world!
I tried to do a high protein day with lean proteins today in hopes that it will help me shed some of the weight I've gained. I don't want to go above 157 and have to do another steak day.

I was all excited about a 'steak day', but it didn't work as well as I had hoped. I've read other people's experiences with a steak day wherein they lose anywhere from 2 to 4 pounds overnight. You can imagine my disappointment when the scale only dipped down .4. At least it was a loss and not another gain! Right!!!
Today I tried for 1500, but didn't quite make it.

Before bed I decided since today was going to be a steak day anyway I might as well eat some more and had blueberries with low fat sour cream sweetened with stevia and chopped almonds. It was to die for! I was thinking I'd definitely go up at least a pound if not two. Which would put me over the 2 pound gain.
Decided to do a steak day anyway......a huge steak! 16.9 oz ribeye and an apple. I drank 2 liters of water and had several cups of coffee and tea throughout the day. Oddly enough, I wasn't hungry until later in the afternoon. Even though I'm still under the 2 pound limit, which would have been 157.0, I was already prepared....so what could it hurt.

Well I made it through the day but am still nerveous that I'll gain weight. I was up .2 from yesterday, which doesn't surprise me since I starte my period this morning. I usually gain a couple of pounds of water weight right before. I'm anxious to see what the scale reads tomorrow.
By the way....eating 900 calories isn't easy at all when you've been used to eating 500. I had a hard time with lunch today. I fixed chicken and put it on my salad with real dressing, but I had a hard time finishing it. This may sound strange....but the dressing tasted funny.

Well I made it through the day but am still nerveous that I'll gain weight. I was up .2 from yesterday, which doesn't surprise me since I starte my period this morning. I usually gain a couple of pounds of water weight right before. I'm anxious to see what the scale reads tomorrow.
By the way....eating 900 calories isn't easy at all when you've been used to eating 500. I had a hard time with lunch today. I fixed chicken and put it on my salad with real dressing, but I had a hard time finishing it. This may sound strange....but the dressing tasted funny.
Breakfast - 262 calories
Scrambled eggs & veggies
1 egg plus 1/3 c egg substitute
1/4 c zucchini
1/4 c mushrooms
1/4 c onion
2 slices Hormel bacon
1/8 c shredded cheese
Lunch - 314 calories
6 oz chicken - grilled
2 c lettuce
2 tbls ranch dressing
Afternoon snack - 153
Orange
12 Almonds
Dinner - 242
5 oz Tilapia
1 tbls light butter
Dinner was awesome. Tilapia sauted in butter. Decided tonight that I didn't want veggies after the salad for lunch didn't set well. Still working on my 2 liters of water for the day. Forgot to drink any until about 2:30 this afternoon. That's what happends when I'm working on a rush project. I think I'll pick up some dandelion tea this week. R1P3 - Day 1
Weight 155.0
This is my LDW. I had lost another .7 but gained it back yesterday. Not surprising since it's that time of the month again. The 3 days of the VLCD without the HCG was really hard yesterday. I found that my stomach growled, a first, most of the day.
I am very nerveous about this phase. I'm upping my calories up to 900 per day for the first 3 days and then up to 1200 for 3 days, etc. I just couldn't jump into 1500 to 2000 overnight. I did have to eat out today but I did my research and found were I could eat that wasn't going to devestate me. I chose Wendy's because you can get online and pull up there menu and even make changes to what you order so you can eat what you want and avoid what you don't. I chose their Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, w/o the pecans and with a lite dressing and a bottle of water to drink. I've had 886 calories today.
My daughter found this program online called Lose-It which is very similar to the Weight Watchers online program as far as keeping track of your calories and activity. It's really helped me to keep track of what I'm eating.
I'm down 17.8 pounds and I've lost 20.5 inches. It's been alot of fun going through the clothes in my closet and figuring out what fits and what I need to get rid of. I have some clothes that are a little too tight hanging up. You loose weight so fast on this that clothes I couldn't wear one week, I was into by the following week. It is the most amazing program I have ever followed. I just wish I'd known about it sooner.

2 c cabbage (vinegar, lemon juice and stevia dressing)
Evening snack - 70

There does seam to be a difference in some of the items. I've been counting 60 calories for an orange but the Lose-It program lists it for 70. I'd rather be careful so I'm going with the Lose-It numbers.
By the way....I cheated a bit with the Cool Whip today but have to say it tasted really funny! I thought it was the Cool Whip, but my family says it tastes normal. So being off sugars for 4 weeks prior, my taste buds have changed. Interesting! I'm hoping it always taste funny then I won't be tempted to eat things I shouldn't.

I have been on the HCG diet for 23 days now. I'm stopping the drops in two days and then the 3 days of no HCG but sticking with the VLCD. I'll be on maintenance for 27 days before reloading for round 2. I wanted to get started on the HCG but our anniversary is also coming up so I took the number of days and divided them in two, 27 days, to be on the drops and to be on maintenance before being able to load the weekend of our anniversary. Since I need to loose more weight, will be starting Round 2 on February 5th. I take my measurements again tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how many inches I've lost in Round 1.
