Still loosing although it was another crazy day for me. We had friends that decided they wanted to come over to play cards and stayed until 9:30. So I didn't get to eat my normal dinner. I did have chicken and some tangelos, but no veggies. Just to be on the safe side, I'm planning on an apple day tomorrow.

Down another .6 today despite the extra orange and almonds last night. It was a crazy day today. I had a meeting that went later then expected and after picking up my daughter to runs some errands it's was after 8 by the time we got home and I didn't bring anything with me to eat. So I had an apple about 7 and an orange when I got home with a handful of almonds.

I've lost what I gained yesterday. I'm hoping tomorrow will drop me down below 150! It's seams like I've been stuck here for a while. I've also decided that for the rest of this phase I'm going to do an apple day once a week unless my weight loss really kicks in again. I've heard that it does at the end of the 3rd week and the 4th week. I hope so. At this rate It's going to be difficult for me to make my goals without staying on the program longer. I had hoped to be down 30 pounds from my LDW of 155, which would put me at 125, but that's another 25 pounds and I only have 23 more days to go. So I can either do another round later in the spring or I can hang in there and see how much more I can lose staying on the drops a few more days. I guess it will depend on what I"m weighing at the end of the 40 days!

I was so disappointed today to have gained. I really thought today would be the day I dropped below 150! Oh well, maybe tomorrow. Every time I get discouraged I remind myself that I've lost a total of 29.2 pounds since last year. That's amazing! Just another .8 and I'll be down 30 pounds with only 20 more to go. That keeps me motivated to stick with it.

R2P2 - Day 14

I guess the tale was told and it didn't work out in my favor! So today's an apple day. I went to the grocery store this morning and picked several different types of apples. It's actually something I've always wanted to do. I bought Ambrosia, Jazz, Pacific Rose, Gala and Red delicious. My favorite was the Pacific Rose. It was very crisp and slightly sweet. One of my favorite apples is Honeycrisp but they were out of them. Now it's a toss up between the two. Wasn't impressed with the Jazz, but I know getting them out of season can make a big difference in how they taste and all apples have different seasons. I've had some red delicious apples that tasted terrible and I've had some really good ones. So I haven't given up on the Jazz yet. I'll try it again at a different time of year to see if that makes a difference. Interestingly, there are over 3,000 varieties of apples. If you ate a different one every day for a year it would take you over 8 years to sample each one.

I'm dying here....looks like an apple day tomorrow. Somethings got to give. I'm taking the drops, eating 500 or below and my weight loss has definitely stalled! It's already day 13 and I'm still not under 10 pounds. I did up my calories some today just to see if that might work, but if not apple day here I come!

A little discouraged that I'm not losing like I did on round 1. I did really good today until I was invited to an engagement party for a friend of the family. They were serving champagne and finger foods and I caved!!! I had a small flute, maybe 4 oz champagne and about 1/2 cup of fresh fruit. Unfortunately that was just for starters!!! I had 4 small sausage stuffed mushrooms, 4 bite size chicken kabobs, 1 cracker with cream cheese and 3 very small coconut cookies (approx, 1" diameter). Once I got started there was no stopping me! I have no way to count the extra calories I had tonight. I usually have more willpower than I did tonight, but I knew going in that it was going to be hard for me. It will be interesting to see what the scales read tomorrow. I just hope I haven't blown it big time. The good news is that I'm on this for 40 days so I've got time to make it up.

Down a little today, but not what I was hoping for. I'm down 7.5 pounds for 5 days and was hoping to make 10 the first week. On round 1 I lost 9.8 the first week. I was also hungry today so I've upped my drops to 12 three times per day to see if it will take the edge off. I also think I may start eating my bread and fruit between meals. It's seams like I'm stuffed at lunch and dinner but hungry in between. I had an extra grsissini today in the afternoon.

Not a bad start. Am feeling a bit hungry tonight. I may increase my drops to 15 three times a day for the next couple of days just to take the edge off. I'm also a little tired and I woke up with a headache today. To be expected. Should disappear in the next couple of days. During round 1 I had all kinds of energy, but not the first week. The first week is the getting used to the HCG and the VLCD.

*Cut the tomato in half and grill until skin is blackened. Remove skin and place tomato in blender. In a sauce pan put 1/2 c chicken broth and 1 tbls tomato puree and heat over medium heat. I usually add 2 cloves of garlic and some onion powder. Add the pureed tomato. Heat through and serve. This is a great soup and you can change the flavor by adding Italian seasonings or Mexican seasoning. Sometimes I boil the chicken in chunks and add to the soup.

R2P2 - Day 1

Here we go with another round. I'm so excited to get the rest of the weight off. I'm hoping to lose 30 pounds in the 40 days. It's actually like to be in the 120's, but if I can make it down to 130 I'd be a happy camper. When my husband and I got married 12 years ago I weighed about that. So here's to round 2!!!

This is one of my favorite meals because it's easy to make ahead and take with you. I chop up the cabbage like for cole slaw, cook the steak and then thinly slice it and cut it into bite size pieces and put on top of the cabbage. I make a dressing of 1 tbls lemon juice, 1 tbls apple cider vinegar and 4-6 drops of stevia and pour over the whole thing, then I sprinkle it with a salt free seasoning. The longer it sets the better it taste.

This has to be another of my favorite meals on HCG. I take 3 of the strawberries and put them in the blender with 1 tbls lemon juice, 1 tbls apple cider vinegar and stevia to taste and blend. I put the salad in a bowl and cut the left over strawberries and place on top, then I cook the chicken, cut it up into bite size pieces and put it on top of the salad. Pour the dressing over the top and enjoy!

I need to be careful and make sure the I don't drop too far below 500 or I'll start to hold the weight like I did last time.

R2P1 - Day 1-3 Loading

Not bad for a 3 day load. Last round I did a 2 day load and gained 4.1 pounds. I'm not worried because I know that I will lose it in the next 2 days. For this round I'm going to use my high weight, that way I can see how much I lose including what I gained in the load days, so my start weight for round 2 will be 161.4. That still puts me 11.2 pounds under my original start weight of 172.6.

As to what I ate on my load days......it was not only our anniversary but also Super Bowl Sunday! Yikes!!! We had a big family dinner Friday night which included steak, coconut shrimp, rolls with butter, peas, chocolate covered cherries, cheese cake, wine.....couldn't handle any more salad. Then Saturday morning after a family breakfast of eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls and toast with butter, we headed out of town to spend the night. Anniversary dinner at the Outback was Victoria Filet (we split an order), ceasar salad, mashed potatoes, scallops and I had a margarita and a mojito with dinner. We got a late start Sunday morning and had donuts and chicken mcnuggets and fires on the way home. Supper bowl sunday was steak, ribs, pasta salad, dips and chips, mai tais, beer, rice crispy treats, brownies......etc!!! I was hurting by the time we left, but I think I did a pretty good job of loading with lots of fat!!! Hopefully it will make the firs few days on the drops easier and I wont be hungry!

This post is for Thursday, February 3rd. I'm a little behind. Eating more calories really helped. I was pleasantly impressed with the loss. It will be interesting to see how I do on my load days which begin tomorrow! 3 days of loading this time instead of the 2 days I did on Round 1. I only did 26 days on the HCG and this Round I'm going for a full 40 and maybe even a little more. Since I'm doing the homeopathic drops instead of the injections, there's less chance of becoming immune to the HCG so theoretically, I should be able to go for a longer period of time and still lose the weight, but we'll have to wait and see. I may be so totally done after 40 days I'll be glad to quit!

I'm not going to list what I ate today, but it wasn't much. I was only at or around 1200 calories, so it may show up on the scales tomorrow. I was hoping to start loading at this weight but we'll see. I am going to miss my greek yogurt with blueberries and almonds!

I upped my calories to a little over 1600 yesterday but it obviously wasn't enough. Decided to push for between 1900 and 2000 today. I managed to have a little over 1800. It was the best I could do and I didn't eat as good as I could have. I picked up fresh cherries and ate about 4 cups of them, not to mention the blueberries and pineapple. I did try to balance the fruit with protein; almonds, yogurt and cheese.

I'm getting ready to begin Round 2 and am very excited about it. My 2 daughters and my mother are going on this round with me. I'm shooting for 40 days, but may stick with it longer if I haven't lost all the weight I want to. I'm hoping for 30 pounds this round. I'm loading this weekend and will start the VLCD on Monday, February 7th.
