Total weight loss first week - 5.5
No I haven't given up. I'm still plugging along. Still struggling with this round and haven't been staying completely on protocol. I'm sure thats why I've only lost 5.5 pounds my first week. I haven't been able to gice up my coffe with flavored creamer yet and I've also had some half & half in my broccoli soup on 3 days in a row and for 2 out of the 3 I also added a little cheese to the soup. Yesterday I had ribeye steak instead of New York, which has a lot more fat, but tasted oh so much better. I'm determined to do better this week. No more cheats. I'm just not sure I can give up my coffe in the mornings!
A friend of mine, who is also on the program, had a wonderful idea. She's taken to substituting her meat with non fat Greek yogurt. 1 cup is 130 calories and has 23 grams of protien in it. Last night I made my broccoli soup and added the 1/2 c yogurt instead of the half & half and the whole bowl was only 115 calories. Then I took the other 1/2 cup of yogurt, added a little stevia and strawberries for a wonderful desert. My total calories were only 215. The half & half alone that I was putting in my soup had more calories than that. It's a really nice chance of pace when I'm tired of meat!
I'd like to lose 5 pounds per week. I'm staying on Phase 2 until December 23, when we go camping for 4 days. I'll stop taking the drops during those 4 days and resume the drops on the 27th. Then I will be on Phase 2 until the end of January or until I've lost the weight I've gained. Out anniversary is in February and I'd really like to be down into a dress I couldn't wear last year. It will probabaly take that long for me to get my mind wrapped around doing maintenance the RIGHT way!

Still working on my water intake. It's been so stinkin cold here that the last thing I want to do is drink a lot of water. Makes me that much colder! I hate cold weather, by the way. having grown up in sothern California, I still can't adapt to it and I have no clue as to how to dress to keep warm. I'm either freezing or I over dress and I'm roasting. No happy medium here!

Not as good as I had hoped, but it's still a loss. Yesterday I had chicken and mushrrooms for lunch which is off protocol, but I didn't want to see them go to waste. I also had elk that my son-in-law gave me. Very lean meat.
This round is so far the hardest one I've done and I'm not sure why. I'm really struggling with it. Haven't been able to completely give up my coffee creamer in the mornings. I know that's why my weight loss is slower this round than others, plus I really didn't load. I had already gained so much weight that I just didn't want to put on more. I ate pretty normal exepct on Sunday when I had 3 candy bars. Maybe that's why it's already been so hard.

R4P2 - Day 1

I"m starting round 4 again since the last time I never finished it. I binged over the weekend and gained 3.5 pounds, so my start weight this round is 160. I'm up 25 pounds! Yikes!!! I am so mad at myself that I lost all that weight and then allowed myself to gain 25 pounds of it back. (I'm still down 18) I'm determined to get it back off. I'm sticking with this round until I drop what I've gained back, so it will proabably be longer than the 21 days. Our anniversary is in February and I'd like to be back down in the 130's by then. That's roughly 65 days from now. I can do this!!!

Starting Over......Maintenance
Today's weight 156.8
It's been a bad month. I weighed 143 at the end of my last round but had to leave for Minnesota and couldn't stay on maintenance while I was there. Got home and just couldn't get back to P3 eating. So I've paid the price! I'm up 13.8 pounds in 1 month!!! Comes off quick but it goes back on just as quick if you don't do the maintenance. I guess that's why they say maintenance is the most important part of the program.
So here I am, starting over. I'd love to go back on the HCG, but I really need to learn to stick with the maintenance the right way. So I'm doing the P3 for 3 weeks that I didn't do after my last round. I'm hoping to drop some of the weight I've put on and I'm hoping to feel better. With all the junk I've been eating, I feel crummy! I've scheduled my next HCG round to start the middle of December, so I've got 8 weeks to stick with maintenance. I'm hoping to lose what I've gained......or at least most of it.
I didn't make my goal of reaching 125 by the time I turned 51. I'd like to get back down to 135 and then maintain that for 6 months or so. If I still feel like I'd like to lose the last 10 pounds I can do it later, once my weight has stabilized.
When I first started this it was exciting to go into my closet and try on clothes I hadn't been able to wear and have them be too big, now it's depressing. So many of the clothes I got into are now to tight and uncomfortable. I am determined to get back down into them!
Over the weekend I got a bike. Several years ago my bike was stolen and I've had a tough time finding another one I liked as well. I've probably gone through 4 or 5 bikes since then. This summer I got rid of all of them because I didn't like riding them. Finally got one I love! It's a Raleigh Cruiser. It's great for the kind of riding I like to do. I'm hoping that getting active again will help me drop the weight I've put on.
I've also learned the importance of weighing in DAILY!!! If I'd have known I had gained this much, I would have got my act together sooner. But I didn't want to know so I wasn't weighing myself anymore. What a shock! I'm now officially back in the 'overweight' category.
Oh well......P3 eating today and some exercise in the afternoon.

I've been up and down the past couple of days because I'm still not eating right. I spent the morning pre-cooking my food for this weekend since we're going to be out of town. Hopefully I can stick with it. I'm not bringing anything else with me so it will be harder to cheat. thankfully I'm attending a seminar so I'll be busy during the day. I think Monday and Tuesday of next week will be my no HCG VLCD days. If I can stick with that I can start maintenance on Wednesday and still have a couple of days before we leave for Minnesota.
I'm doing a Fage non-fat Greek yogurt day today.

So I'm up a little after blowing it yet again yesterday. Had decided to do a steak day and did pretty good until tonight. Had a handful of almonds and 2 grissini. Sheez, I don't know whay this round has been so hard for me to stay on track.

Okay.....so I'm back down to my lowest weight this round. I tried an apple day yesterday and was thoroughly nauseous after 2 apples, so I finished my day with Fage Greek fat free yogurt and strawberries. I wasn't expecting to drop anything . Since I havn't been weighing in like I should I can only guess that I dropped 1.5 or better. I've decided to do a min-steak day today since my schedule is like crazy hectic today. It should get me over the hump and hopefully back on track!
By the way....I'm still up over 10 pounds from what I weighed the end of round 3! I've decided to stick with the P2 through the weekend and stop next week so that I'm on maintenance for my trip to Minnesota. I still want to get into the 130's and then maintain that weight for awhile before trying to drop down into the 120's. Maintenance is the key to this program, that's for sure. We have a 5 hour flight and we're leaving at 11:00 in the morning. I'm not sure what kind of food I can bring on the flight. It's been a while since I've flown anywhere, but I think they have restrictions as to what you can bring on board. At least they do for liquids. I'm not sure about food though. I did not weigh today because I know I'm up and just can't handle the disappointment. I got down to 143.7, almost 10 pounds from my start weight, but didn't do to good over the weekend. it's not that I ate horrible, but I didn't stick to P2 foods. The grocery store and Fage yogurt on clearance for 50% off and i couldn't resist, so for a couple of my meals I've had Greek Fage yogurt and strawberries, which I really didn't think would hurt me all that much, but I gained. So toady I'm doing an apple day. Picked up some beautiful Honeycrisp apples over the weekend. I'm also planning on doing a mini-steak day tomorrow because of my hectic schedule. So Hopefully with the combination of the two I'll be back down on Wednesday!
I'm heading out of town this weekend and was debating on whether to go on to Phase 3, but I think that I'll stick with the P2 until next Thursday. We're leaving for Minnesota on that Friday. It seams like no matter what I do it it's going to be hard either way. I'm attending a seminar in Minnesota and I'm not sure how that's going to work with maintenance. Okay....it's already the 16th day into this round and I haven't even lost 10 pounds yet!?!?!? I usually lose 10 within the first week and a half. I need to lose 9.9 more pounds to make my goal. Still trying to decide whether to quit next Friday or try and stick with it until the 28th. At this rate....it's looking like the 28th!
Plus I didn't stick with it again today......and I wonder why the program isn't working as good......DUH!!! I decided to do another mini-steak day today but only made it until about 2:00. I had a salad at McDonald's on the fly. Had P2 chili when I got home and then later had a handful of almonds. I didn't have any fruit today so I'm hoping tomorrow isn't a complete bust!

I have a doctor's appointment in the morning for my annual physical.....YUK!!!.....then a meeting with a client and lots of errands in between so I'm thinking that even if I lose some tomorrow I may do another mini-steak day just because it would be easier.
I also have a dilemma. I wanted to be off this round for a trip out of town the 24, 25 of this month. That would give me a week to be on maintenance before attending a seminar in Minnesota the following week. However, I'm doing lousy on this round and haven't lost anywhere near what I wanted to, so I'm debating on whether to stick with it until the 28th, right before my trip to Minnesota or stop on the 23rd before our trip out of town. Not to surprised after eating the extra steak and having the chai tea yesterday, plus still struggling with my water. Can't seam to get down as much as I should be this round.
I managed to blow it again today. I had a shortbread cookie and a raisin roll today. Had my regular lunch and dinner but no fruit or grissini, so I'm hoping it won't be too bad tomorrow.

Best laid plans of mice and men.....I was weak....very weak! I had really good intentions. I got up early, made my lunch so I wouldn't be tempted to eat and then off I went to meet my daughters! We had lunch at Chipotle Grill, which I have to say was amazing! It's kind of a Mexican fast food place, but it's not fast food. You order your burrito and they make it right there with the ingredients you want, everything fresh with no preservatives or additives. And they're HUGE!!! I could only eat half of mine. Then we had Coldstone ice cream. I just got a 'like it' but definitely not on protocol. Then we went to see a move and I had some popcorn so it was a really bad food day for me. I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day so I'm hoping the damage won't be too bad tomorrow, but I'm expecting the worse. Will probably do a mini steak day tomorrow. Don't have enough apples for an apple day. I would count the calories but don't have a clue what they would be. Back on track tomorrow!

This has been a crazy first week for me on the program. Haven't done as well as I've done in past rounds. Total loss for the first week is 7.5 compared to 8.7 and 9.4 in other rounds. Not that I'm complaining.....7.5 isn't bad. I'm just hoping it doesn't slow down to a crawl now. I still have 10.9 pounds to lose in the next 2 weeks.
I have done very good so far this round. Haven't cheated once other than a diet soda here and there. I'm meeting my daughters in Flagstaff tomorrow, but already have a plan of attack so I'm not tempted to blow it. Lunch at the food court at the mall so I can bring what I want and then shop while they're still eating. In principle....it should work!!!!

What a shock! I don't think I've ever had this kind of a loss this far into the program unless I was doing a steak or apple day. I guess starting my period did mess me up. I'm down 7.2 pounds in 5 days, not the best I've done on prior rounds but pretty close. I usually average about 9 pounds the first week and I'm hoping this round stays the same.
It's funny how the longer you've been on the program the easier it is to tell when it's time to eat. About the time I start getting hungry I'll look at the clock and realize that it's a little passed my time to take my drops. Otherwise, I haven't been hungry at all. Not to say that i haven't had cravings! Found a stash of chocolate today and I was really tempted to eat it. Then I start remembering how I felt when i was down into the 130's and I want to get back there again. So bye bye chocolate!

Still not impressed with this round so far. But, being that time of the month may be messing with the whole process. We'll see how next week goes. Hopefully better than this week.
I've decided to do a cleanse starting tomorrow. Nothing too complicated, just a mineral and herbal capsule in the morning and another one at night. Picked it up at the health food store today. Thought maybe it would help. I've talked to others who have tried doing a cleanse while on the HCG and they've had better success. I just hope it doesn't make me sick! It's a 2 week cleanse, so I should be on it until I'm almost done.

Did really good today food wise, but still struggling with the water intake. I've had 1 liter plus another 20 ounces, so thats 53 ounces so far, but I should be drinking more like 90. But it's early yet.

I went crazy at the grovery store today. The turkey sasuage was on clearance, plus they had sirloin steak, rib eye and lean hamburger (93/7), all on sale. Unfortunately we live in a small town and the selection isn't always what I'd like it to be. It's very unusual for us to have sirlion steak. Thankfully, we're getting a Trader Joe's in a town about 30 miles away.
I have enough meat to last me the whole 21 days I think! Some of it I precooked for emergencies. Also picked up some fruit, but I'm not sure if I'm going to have it everyday or with every meal. I guess it will depend greatly on what the scales say! 14.2 pounds to go!

Not what I was expecting after my first day. I usually lose 3+ pounds and have lost as much as 4.7 after my first day on the VLCD. I hope this isn't indicitive of how this round is going to go. So I have 16.4 more pounds to lose.
Working on drinking more water. Yesterday I only had about 1 1/2 liters. I should be drinking 3 liters per day. Right now I'm on my 2nd liter, so I may make it tonight. At least I'll get closer!

R4P2 - Day 1

Yeah, you read that right! Yikes!!! I'm up almost 20 pounds from my last LDW. I loaded while we were camping this weekend, but I've been eating lousy since the end of my last round. After getting a flu bug I just never got my act together and then it was all down hill from there. Thankfully I've gotten to the point were I'm tired of eating lousy and I'm tired of not having anything that fits. I got rid of all my bigger clothes when I started loosing weight as an incentive not to gain it back. So my wardrobe right now is very limited.
I'm only doing a 21 day round. I'm flying to Minnesota for a business seminar the end of next month and I wanted to be on maintenance for at least a week before I leave. It won't be easy even being in maintenance. They serve a continental breakfast, which of course I can't eat and then lunches are included, which are usually more P3 friendly. Then I have the problem of dinners. Pizza and beer just isn't going to cut it!
I'm trying this round to get back down into the 130's, even if it's the high 130's! I had dropped down to 132.8, but was back up to about.......oh my word I just check my last LDW for round 3......it was 133.0 so I've gained back 20.4 pounds! Like I said, I'm just hoping to get back down into the 130's and then stay there for awhile. Our anniversary is in February and I'll probably go back on the program once more before then to see if I can get into the 120's. I'm 5'3 and my WII says I should weigh 129 which is about 22% body fat. I think I can live with that!

Restart
Okay....so i didn't restart round 4 like I had planned. Too much going on right now to get it together so I've set a new start date for Round 4. We're going camping the end of this month and I'll load on those days, then start on the 29th. In the meantime I'm trying to get in the habit of eating P2 foods. No sugar or starch. I'm also working on drinking more water. I'm hoping this will get me primed to stick with it the end of this month.
After going off Round 3 the wrong way and going back to my normal pre-HCG eating habits, it's been hard to pull it together. Plus I think I was trying to start my rounds too close together. This way I'll start Round 4 almost 11 weeks after ending Round 3. I'm hoping I'll drop some of the weight I've gained by sticking with the P2 foods until then.

After round 3 my LDW was 133.8, so I've gained back 15 pounds. Yikes!!! It;s like my last round didn't count. That will teach me to go off the program! But I'm back and hoping to get the 15 I've gained off by the end of September and if possible a couple of extra pounds. That would be nice.

Oh well, no sense beating myself up over it. Just get back to the program and watch the weight drop back off.
We went camping this weekend so I loaded then. I didn't weigh myslef before we left so I'm not sure how much I gained. There is someting to be said about weighing yourself eery day!

I actually lost 1.3 pounds after my steak day yesterday but I was up over 4 pounds after my weekend binge. Yikes!!! Still trying to get over this flu bug I caught last week and feeling lousy again today so I didn't eat P3 foods today. Had toast for lunch......comfort food! So I don't expect the scales to be nice to me tomorrow.
We're going to out of town this weekend so I know it's going to be another bad eating weekend. My husband is taking me out to dinner on Saturday night. I'm going to try and be good......but no promises!!!

Still trying to get over this flu bug I caught last week and feeling lousy again today so I didn't eat P3 foods today. Had toast for lunch......comfort food! So I don't expect the scales to be nice to me tomorrow.
We're going to out of town this weekend so I know it's going to be another bad eating weekend. My husband is taking me out to dinner on Saturday night. I'm going to try and be good......but no promises!!!

R3P3 - Day 3

I'm not weighing myself this morning because I know that I've gained alot of weight over the weekend! It was a total bust. We went out both Saturday and Sunday and I ate all the things I shouldn't have. Plus, my daughter made chocolate chip cookies yesterday and I was weak......very weak! I knew this weekend was going to be hard, that's why I debated on whether to go off the drops or not.
Today's a steak day. I'm hoping I can undo the damage over the weekend!

I've been down with a really nasty flu bug since last Thursday. I've managed to drop 2 pounds but I haven't been eating P2 foods. I've been feeling so lousy the last couple of days I've had 2% Greek yogurt and fruit with nuts and that's about it. Everything taste weird including water! Been running a fever since Thursday night. Thought it would be gone by now but it's back up today. Was going to go off the drops today, but since I'm not eating P2 foods I'm not sure if I should stay on the drops for until I'm back on P2 foods or if I should just quit now. Still thinking on it! I was due to have company over on Friday but since I'm sick don't think they'll want to come over and be exposed to this.

I'm down 2.4 in the last 2 days but I think it's because I've been sick. Started out on Thursday with a persistent cough but I wasn't feeling bad. Started running a fever later that day and felt miserable all day yesterday. Still running a fever today. Haven't felt like eating much. Food taste funny. Been drinking a lot of liquids, mostly water. Feel weak but I'm not sure if it's because I haven't felt like eating or just being sick. I was just surprised that this one hit so fast.
I am ecstatic that I dropped below the 135 mark. I'm just hoping I can stay there. I'd still like to lose below 130 but only have 3 more days so it's unlikely. I would stay on the drops longer to lose those last few pounds but we have company coming the end of next week and I know I won't be able to stick with it. So I'm headed for maintenance and I'll probably do another round later in the year to drop down to my goal weight of 125. It would be nice to lose another couple of pounds so that my 2 pound limit would still put me under 135. We'll just have to see how the next few days progress.

R3P2 - Day 25 (I think!?!?)

Interestingly I think I have the maintenance part down pretty pat, however, I'm not in maintenance yet!!! I'm so down with this phase, but am sticking with it for my daughters sake. I'm going off droops next Tuesday and on too soon. I think I've done too many rounds too close together. I was hoping to get into the 120's but I don't think that's going to happen, so I'm prepared to get off the drops and stay off for awhile before beginning another and final round toward the end of the year to get rid of the last 10 pounds. I will make my goal of being down to 125 before I turn 51!
I actually like where I am right now. I'm comfortable in my own skin which I haven't been for a really long time. I don't shutter when i see myself in the mirror nor do I try to avoid them. After this round I'm going to concentrate on getting into shape. I haven't done any real exercising in years, and with the weight off I'm feeling antsy to get moving. I've taken to hiking once a week, which I love. I'm going to find some additional trails in our area for variety. Plus my husband and I are going to take up bicycle riding again. I am limited in the types of exercises I can do because I have scoliosis. I can only do low impact exercises and absolutely NO weight training. Causes my curvature to worsen.
I was reading up on stalls and found that when you get to a set point, a weight that you were at previously for a long time, it is harder to drop past it and can takes weeks. I'm at the weight I was when my husband and I got married and I was at this weight for years, so it may take longer for me to get past this set point to get to my 'other' set point! But hey, this is a journey right! And I'm enjoying the trip so far. It's always encouraging to try on something I haven't worn in years and have it fit or even be a little baggy.
I have these favorite pair of jeans that are a size 6. Not that I wear a size 6, I'm typically into an 8. Maybe that's why I like these jeans so much. But they are super comfortable and unfortunately are getting too big for me. They are beginning to look baggy. My husband finally said to me the other day that I really should give them up. While they are super comfortable, they are not flattering on anymore.
I"m not going to list my foods today but I've eaten all P2 foods today. I'm trying to get away from documenting everything I eat. This is suppose to be a way of life and I've been on the protocol long enough to know what i can and cannot eat. I will be monitoring my food intake when I go on maintenance. At least for a while.

I'm guessing the steak day worked since I'm back down to were I started from before I blew it, but since I didn't weigh myself after I'm not sure how much I've lost. I'm just glad to be back to where I was before this past week and my non-P2 eating frenzy!!!
I'm back on track now and hope to remain so for the next week. I go off the drops next Tuesday and am hoping to drop into the 120's by then......so I've got to be really be meticulous about the program!

I've eaten alot of non P2 foods and thus no real weight loss. I'm going to be extra good this last week since I'm due to stop the drops next Tuesday. Not as good as I had hoped after an apple day, but then I did a modified apple day. I also had some strawberries.....so that may be the reason. Once again I didn't do as good as I could have today. I had a vanilla iced coffee at McDonald's this morning and a few too many grissini tonight, but it's that time of the month and I'm craving anything and everything!!!

Yes.....the food free for all I had yesterday caught up with me! I'm not too disappointed, it was a planned thing so I was expecting it. Doing an apple day today to compensate.
My daughters and I have decided to do a 10 pound challenge. We've challenged each other to see who can lose the 10 pounds the fastest. The winner gets a prize of their choice. My youngest daughter wants to pick out any swim suit she wants out of the Victoria Secret catalogue. My oldest daughter has yet to decide what she would like her prize to be. Personally, I think losing the 10 pounds is prize enough for me! But then again.....a nice massage would feel really good!
We have another wedding to go to this Saturday and I know I'm going to blow it again. It's so hard to go to a catered dinner reception and then sit there and not eat. I will try to make better choices than I did last night. But really......who can resist wedding cake???
My husband went on the program with me for 2 weeks. His schedule changed and he has to be out of town this week and it was just too hard for him to stick with it. He did manage to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks and that while having flavored creamer in his coffee every morning and his daily 'cheats' in the afternoon, usually peanuts or hot tamales. I was proud of him for sticking with it for 2 weeks. Will he keep it off????? Probably not. He broke the diet with a large fry and cheeseburger! He will, however, have a totally different view of what I've gone through and what I still struggle with.
I was looking at some old pictures this morning just to remember how far I've come on this weight loss journey. It's sad actually to see how miserable I was even when I was trying to have fun. I wasn't comfortable in my clothes, not for that matter with myself. Looking at those pictures helps me to keep my resolve that I never, ever want to be in that position again. I like where I am right now. I like how I look. I like who I am. I'm comfortable with me!
I have lots of overweight pictures of me, but I'm waiting for some of the newer ones so I can post the difference. I had become so camera shy that even though I've lost weight, I don't have any pictures. We went to a wedding recently and I'm waiting to get back some of those to post.

Wow!!! I'm at my lowest weight since I can't remember when but it must have been shortly after my husband and I got married 12 years ago! I wish I could say I did good today but I didn't and I knew in advance I was going to blow it today. We had a gathering at 12:30 and with picking up the dogs from the kennel and then rushing to get there, I didn't have time to make anything. I was starving so I ate things I should have. Peanuts, 1/2 a roast beef sandwich, a slice of pizza.......and the list goes on! I guess we'll just have to see what the scales say tomorrow.....it's probably going to be an apple day though!

Hmmmm....... .2????? Haven't decided if I want to try another apple day or if my body is finally catching up from the last one. Think I'll give it till Sunday to see how I do. I'm going out of town Friday and Saturday, but I'm bringing my food with me. I'm hoping I don't cave! And next Saturday......another wedding! I just hope my will power in more on track then it's been so far this round or I'm going to have trouble when faced with all that food, not to mention the cake!!!
I've got a friend who is on the program and has just finished round 1 and lost 19 pounds. As a treat she went and had her nails done. I was thinking....wow....that's pretty cool. So today I went and got mine done. I was going to wait until I reached my goal of 125, but I've already lost 40+ pounds and figured, what the heck, it's time to celebrate my achievements! It was a wonderful treat for all the hard work in sticking with this program since December.

I cooked the ground beef with some minced onions and Mexican seasoning then topped my salad with it and a little salsa. It made an awesome taco salad!

It's amazing to me that you can chose one item from the lists of food we can eat on this and we're not suppose to be too concerned about the calories and yet some days I barely make 400 and then days like today I go over 500. So I don't know where this will leave my weight loss for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll lose, because otherwise I'm going to be pretty ticked if I gain!!!
Did pretty good on my water intake for today. If I'm up at all tomorrow it's going to be another apple day!

You know, if I were on maintenance I would be pretty happy about the scales staying the same. However, since I'm not......what's going on!!! If I stay the same tomorrow or gain, I'm thinking I'll do another apple day. I hate doing 2 in one week, but somethings got to budge and I don't want to wait for another 2-3 days without progress.....I don't have the days to waste!

Wow, I stayed the same. I usually gain after an apple day ans was expecting it since I had so many grissini last night. In this case, no weight gain is a good thing. I was super good today. Didn't cheat once. A little short on my water today for some reason. I have 12.1 pounds to go to reach my goal, however, I only have 12 days. I doubt I can make that goal in that amount of time.......so I may stick with it for a few more days depending on where I am after the 3 weeks are up. I would really like to be at goal and then done!
Last year about this time I was weighing 179.8. I'm 5'2 1/2, so I was pretty much a blimp! To date I've lost 42.7 pounds, most of which has been on hCG. I've also lost a total of 38 inches. So I'm pretty jazzed. Life is good!!!

I guess the broccoli and zucchini didn't effect me. So I may try adding them again periodically. Today was not a good day. I blew it big time. I had absolutely NO will power today. It started with having half of my daughters everything bagel with cream cheese. But, determined to do better I had chicken, lettuce and strawberries for lunch. Doing pretty good so far......right!?!?! Well, it didn't last long. I had an appointment at 4:00 and another at 5:30 so I decided to eat my dinner early. Steak, tomato and an apple.....and after that, well it got ugly! I decided to try out a new place in town that serves soft serve yogurt and got sugar free vanilla which was pretty good. Then at my 5:30 appointment there was all kinds of food. Sub sandwiches, cookies, trail mix, cake.......and my will power left the building. So you guessed it, I ate a little of everything, so I'm already planning on doing an apple day tomorrow, because I know I'm going to GAIN!!! It's just a matter of how much.

I was a little disappointed that by day 4 I'm down to only losing .4! I know this is my third round and I'm down to my last 15 pounds, but.......really???? .4! In looking over my last round, it surprised me to see how often I cheated, even a little. An extra grissini here, an extra piece of fruit there, or even bigger cheats. I'm trying to be super good for the next 17 days. No Cheating!!!

I think I'll up my drops starting tomorrow until I can get this under control.

I don't hink I've ever lost that much overnight before! Wow!!! Of course all of it is weight I've gained on my load days. In fact I'm still up .7 from my load days. Wouldn't it be nice if I lost as much tomorrow?!?!? I'm hoping for 2 so that I'm under the 140 mark again.
Some are having success with adding some different veggies to their diet so I tried zucchini this afternoon, just to see.

R3P2 - Day 1
Start weight 146.4
I managed to gain 5.7 pounds on my load days and I had already gained up to the 2 pound limit. So I'm actually starting this round at 7.7 above my LDW of 138.7 for round 2 and I'm not happy about it! I had hoped to stay at the 140 mark or just above it so that it would be easier to get down to 125. However, things didn't work out quite like I had imagined them in my head. So instead of needing to lose 15 pounds this round, I need to lose 21.4. I've never lost that much in a 21 day round before. I think the best I did was close to 19. So we'll just have to wait and see how this round goes. I was hoping it would be my last!
The wedding yesterday was wonderful. I don't think I've ever seen a bride so beautiful. It was an outdoor wedding and other than the wind and the dirt, it was a lot of fun. Very rustic. My daighter, one of the bridesmaids, was stunning.
Since I've been having a problem blogging lately, I'm going to go ahead and list what I'm eating today even though I haven't had dinner yet. I already know what I'm having.

I'm officially over my 2 pound limit but was having company over so I couldn't do a steak day. I'm loading again tomorrow, so I'm just viewing this as a pre-load loading day. I chose tomorrow to start loading because we're involved in a friends wedding this weekend and the festivities start tomorrow with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The wedding will be on Saturday. I'll start the VLCD on Sunday.
I'm going to cook on Sunday so I can have meat ready for my husband's lunches since he's starting this round with me. I'm hoping I don't gain too much during my load or I'll be needing to lose 20 pounds this round and that would be pushing it!

Not bad considering that I haven't kept track since Day 16......4 days ago and I'm still the same weight! I haven't been counting calories like I did last maintenance, I've just been eating when I feel hungry and eating P3 foods. Except for last Friday......I blew it big time! Sushi for lunch with a beer and junk food that night. Didn't have the guts to weigh in on Saturday morning either but I'm guessing I was up at least 2 pounds.
I'd like to be closer to my LDW or even under before beginning my load days Friday and Saturday. We have wedding rehearsals and dinner Friday night and the wedding on Saturday so I thought those would be good load days. Since I only need to lose another 15 pounds, I'm hoping this will be my last round on the HCG.
My husband has decided to do this next round with me. He only needs to lose about 15 pounds too, so it should be interesting to see if he can handle it and who makes their goal first. Of course, I'm not opposed to losing more than the 15 either! I know that if he sticks with it he'll lose more weight than me. He always does! But this time I don't mind since I'm already down so much. It was a real bummer when he decided to do Weight Watchers with me and he lost 35 pounds in 3 months, while it took me 5 months to lose 20!
This next round should put me at my pre-pregnancy weight, which I haven't weighed in almost 22 years now. My youngest is 21 and I remember I put on 10 pounds as soon as the doctor said 'pregnant'! What a difference HCG has made in my life!

Since I'm getting ready for round 3, I'm not eating as much meat. I've been filling up on fresh fruit and veggies I won't be able to have like mushrooms. I had wanted to start exercising this time on maintenance to get rid of my poochy stomach but things haven't worked out that way. I've literally been swamped and won't see daylight until JULY!!! So I guess exercising will just have to wait until then.

Not bad considering that I had some nuts yesterday afternoon, so it wasn't an honest steak day. Did much better today so I'm hoping I don't gain tomorrow. Didn't cheat once today. No sugar.....No starch!!!

1/2 c zucchini
2/3 c broccoli
1/4 c mushrooms
1/2 c pineapple chunks
1 tbls butter
Sauteed the veggies in butter than added the pineapple and a little Bragg's liquid amino's. Had a very Polynesian taste to it. Would have been fantastic over rice.

The scales giveth and the scales taketh away!!! Yep gained back what I was so excited to lose yesterday. I'm still down 1.4 below my 2 pound limit but maybe not for long. I had a really funky day today. Emotionally! Just felt out of sorts today. I may be getting close to that time of the month again. All I wanted to do was eat.....bad things! Anyway.......I ate good all day until dinner than I downed a pound of sesame chicken. I wasn't even hungry. So I made myself sick on it and probably won't be able to look at chicken, let alone eat any for awhile. Tomorrow may be a steak day for me.

I can't believe I lost 1.1 this morning. I am now .5 BELOW my LDW. The last maintenance I had more problems with. My weight fluctuated a lot more and I kept gaining weight. I've been on maintenance for a week already and haven't had to do a steak day yet!!!
My husband took some pictures of me for an event we went to Sunday night. Interestingly, with as much weight as I've lost, 41.6 total, I still look fat!!! I don't know if was the camera angle or what I was wearing, but they were NOT flattering pictures. The only savings grace was my daughter was in them and she looked heavy too and she's taller than me and weighs about 10 pounds less than me. So I'm hoping I really don't look that bad. But I have to say, it was a blow to my new smaller me ego. Made me glad that I'm doing another round to get off the last 10 to 15 pounds! I better not look fat in those pictures.....

I have 19 more days on maintenance before beginning Round 3. I'm actually looking forward to it because this should be my last. I'll only need to lose between 12 and 15 more pounds and that should be easy on a 21 day round. I can't wait to get down to pre-baby weight after all these years!

Down to .5 below my LDW. I like the breathing room and I'm going to need it. Blew it big time today. It started out good. I had a ham and cheese omelet for breakfast, then a bowl of fresh fruit. For lunch I had some greek yogurt with strawberries and almonds.......from there it went down hill. For dinner I ate the left over sesame chicken I bought at Wal-Mart the night before. Then we were at a kind of get together and I had 2 tangerines and 2 packages of string cheese.....not too bad your thinking. All of it P3 foods your thinking......but wait.....things turned ugly! There was the trail mix with raisins and M&M's, the bacon biscuit, the cupcake, and 1/2 a choc chip cookie. What was I thinking.......All I know is that I'm going to pay for this tomorrow. I'm hoping I don't have to do a steak day......but we'll see!
So...yeah....my calorie count was somewhere over the 2000 mark and this is only day 3! I've got to get in back in control or I'll be way over my 2 pound limit. Here's to sticking with it tomorrow!

I'm down .7 from my LDW, which may be a good thing. I'm always stressed about how I'm going to do when I start on maintenance! You go from eating so little to eating alot! I stayed within my 2 pound limit the last time....so I know I can do it this time. It's interesting to go back and see what I actually ate during P3 last time. Some days were good, others weren't. Not that I ate non-maintenance foods, it's just that I didn't always make the best choices. I have a tendency to eat a lot of fruit and yogurt. This time I'm trying for more protein and veggies. I also have a thing for raw almonds so last time I had them almost every day, which, since i stayed within my limit wasn't a bad thing......I guess! Switching gears is hard. That's why I like P2 best. I KNOW what I can and can't have. It's simple. Stick with it.....lose weight. I know that P3 is suppose to teach you to naturally eat what's best for you, but it still freaks me out!
I've decided to become a distributor of hCG. I've been toying with the idea for months, ever since I started on the program and had such fantastic results, but was dragging my feet. I've had so many of my friends want to know where to get it and no one in our area sells it. I purchased mine from a friend of a friend in CA. I like the drops with the amino acids in them. Those that I've talked to seam to have more success with them than the drops without them. So I finally found a wholesale distributor. Ordered in bulk on Monday, received it today. Incredible service. I've also have a web-page, although it's not up and running yet. My daughter is a web page designer so she'll finish it for me and hopefully get me up and running this weekend. It's not like my life isn't busy already. I already have a job that keeps me hopping. But I work from home, so I'm hoping I can juggle them both. It will be interesting to see how it does.

I know that your suppose to be careful with pineapple and mango's, but they were going to waste so decided to use them. Hopefully it won't kill me tomorrow!

Down but not as much as I was hoping, especially since I stuck to the program perfectly yesterday. So, this round my last dose weight is 138.7. I was hoping to get back down to 137.6 so my 2 pound limit wouldn't put me above 140. Looks like I'm going to have to lose 15 pounds in my next round and I was hoping for more like 10. It shouldn't be too hard to lose another 15 pounds in a 21 day round......I hope!
As to eating today......this was my first day on the VLCD without the drops and I didn't do as good as I could have. I got really hungry about 4 and instead of just having an early dinner......I had brownies and some rice mix. Who know how it's going to effect my weight tomorrow. I guess we'll see!

Down but not as much as I was hoping, especially since I stuck to the program perfectly yesterday. So, this round my last dose weight is 138.7. I was hoping to get back down to 137.6 so my 2 pound limit wouldn't put me above 140. Looks like I'm going to have to lose 15 pounds in my next round and I was hoping for more like 10. It shouldn't be too hard to lose another 15 pounds in a 21 day round......I hope!

Yup....you read it right.....up 1.8! I guess it was to be expected. I have not been good this entire week and have skated by, so it was only a matter of time before it caught up with me. Doing an apple day today and maybe tomorrow, depending on how much I lose. We'll see.
I only have 4 apples in the house today and believe it or not we got more snow last night then we have received all year so far. Since the nearest grocery store is about 20 miles away....I'm going to make due with the apples I have and I may have some strawberries too, since I have 7 containers in the frig.
I'm not looking forward to the 3 days of VLCD and no drops. By the 3rd day, I'm starving! I'm hoping the apple days or days will bring me back down to 137, that way my 2 pound gain margin will still be under 140. Can't wait to have my veggie omelet. I miss breakfasts!!!

I guess this week has finally caught up with me! But only a little. Why is it that we freak out over ounces.....OUNCES!!! It's like the end of the world. Oh my word I gained .4 ounces!!!
Since my daughter is visiting she has taken it upon herself to redo my blog page and I have to say....I love it. Much more 'me' than the other one.
So....the party is over and I think it was a huge success. Everyone seamed to have fun. We had invited over 50 and had about 36 show up. We were able to have it in the house, with several pieces of furniture moved into other rooms. It was cozy.
How did I do.....not as bad as I could have, but I wasn't a saint either. I had one cupcake, 1/2 slice of cheesecake with berry sauce, 1/2 brownie and some fresh fruit. I also had some punch. After everyone was gone and I was cleaning up I had about 4 oz of wine. For lunch I had 3 oz of turkey and just before the party I had half a sandwich with mustard, salami, ham and provolone. I figured I'd better eat something with protein or all the sugar would make me sick. Needless to say.....tomorrow's an apple day.
Here's hoping I don't gain like a gazillion pounds tomorrow!

Down a little which is surprising after what I ate yesterday. I was hoping it wouldn't take a big toll on the scales and thankfully it didn't.
Tomorrow's the big day. The long awaited bridal shower. We did nothing but decorate and cook today. And yes....I once again ate things I shouldn't have. 2 sugar cookies and some rise crispy treat scraps. My daughter made the rice crispy treats and then cut them with a cookie cutter into heart shapes, so I nibbled on the left over pieces. Other than that I was pretty good. I've had 4.....that's right....4 liters of water today! I'll be glad when tomorrow is over. I'm already planning on doing an apple day on Saturday and Sunday will be the last day I do the drops. I'm hoping to lose whatever I gain after the party. I'm actually hoping I don't gain that much, but we'll see.

Down what I gained yesterday so I'm sticking with my lowest weight yet. I only have 4 more days and would love to lose another 2 or 3 pounds but it isn't likely to happen. Just as long as my 2 pound limit isn't above 140. My goal is to never get above 140 again......EVER!!!!
Ate horrible today. Had a McDonald's ice cream cone mid morning and then 2 oreo cookies in the afternoon. Tried to make it up by eating turkey for lunch and had some strawberries for dinner. I've also had my 3 liters of water today......but expecting a gain for tomorrow!

R2P2 - Day 58

I was expecting a little bit of a gain. Whenever I've lost big in the past I've always gained a little bit back the next day. I'm doing a steak day today because my daughters visiting and she's on the program and needed to do a steak day so I'm supporting her.
I'll be so glad when this bridal shower is over. I'm tired of cooking or having my daughter cook things we can't eat. The house is always smelling like cake, or brownies or cookies! Plus we've been making party favors which are individual containers filled with Hershey's chocolate kisses. How I've managed to lose weight this week with all of this going on is nothing short of a miracle! But it will be over on Friday. I'm already planning on doing an apple day on Saturday to hopefully undo what I already know I'm going to do on Friday night. But I'm going to do a planned cheat. I've already decided what I can have and how much so it will be controlled instead of a face first in the food trough kind of cheat!
Anyway, I'm excited about starting maintenance. I still have another 5 days on the drops and then 3 days off the drops but still on the VLCD, so I actually won't start maintenance until the 13th. I can't wait for breakfast. My favorite omelet with veggies and salsa with a bowl of fruit on the side. Sheese.....here I go making myself hungry again!
Had a talk with my husband about my weight loss this morning and we both agreed that 125 is a good weight for me, but I shouldn't go below that. I'm excited about it. If I look this good now, I can't wait to see what I'll look like then. And the best part is that it's within my reach. If you had told me 3 months ago that I would be within 13 pounds of what I weighed before I had kids I would have laughed in your face. Now 35 pounds lighter and several dress sizes smaller....I am a believer! I should reach goal weight by the end of May. Which means I will have lost a total of 48 pounds since December 12th. However, my beginning weight wasn't my heaviest. Before starting on HCG I had joined Weight Watchers yet again and in the 3 months prior had lost a total of 7 pounds. Let's see.....3 months of Weight Watchers - 7 pounds......3 months of HCG - 35 pounds. What a difference. Right now I'm actually down 41.4 pounds from last fall. If I get down to my goal weight I'll have lost a total of 54.8 pounds wince October of last year. Then all I'll have to do is keep it off.
Having trouble with my water today. I lost track of how much I've had. I usually drink water from my 1 liter bottle and I know I've had 1 of those. Then forgot my bottle so had 2 or 3 20 ouncers, so I think I'm still behind in my 3 liter goal. Although I did have a 20 ounce bottle of LifeWater today.

I made snickerdoodle cookies today for the shower on Friday and had a couple just to see how they turned out. I make them small, almost bite size. We'll see if it makes a difference tomorrow.

Another .2 gain.......Arrrggggg!!! I'm up .9 from my lowest weight. Decided to try a steak day but was so busy I wound up having some rotisserie chicken at about 3:00 this afternoon. Then when i got home at 5:00 my daughter was once again experimenting with cupcake recipes for the bridal shower we're hosting next Friday, so I had to try them. Had 2 without icing. They were to die for! So, while I didn't go over my calories for the day.....I didn't eat what I should have. This bridal shower is going to kill me! I still have to make a double batch of snickerdoodle cookies this weekend and freeze them for the party. It's hard to bake and not try what your making to see if it's turning out okay. Plus, being on mu period, I'm craving chocolate anyway.....did I mention they were chocolate cupcakes?!?

R2P2 - Day 53

I'm not sure why the protein days lately haven't worked for me. So I'm back to the normal diet and we'll see how that works. It's that time of the month so that could have something to do with the weight gain and my crazy cravings! Going through the grocery store the other day I felt I could have bought a whole dozen donuts and eaten all of them before I got home! That should have told me something!!!
So far this round I'm down 21.6 pounds. I originally started round 1 at 172.6 so I've lost a total of 32.8 pounds, which on my 5' 2 1/2" frame is amazing. I want to lose another 15. My goal weight is 125, a number I never thought I'd see again, especially after turning 50 this year. So far I've lost a total of 33.75 inches. Over 6 just in my waist! These are the things I concentrate on when I hit a stall or I'm only losing .2 or .4. Helps me to keep from getting discouraged!
I have 9 more days on the drops, although I really feel like I've been on them too long. I've up my drops to 10 4x's a day to see if it will help. I figure even if I don't lose much more, it isn't going to hurt me any to stay on them. I'm supporting both of my daughters who are also on the drops. I will be glad to start maintenance and I've already marked down when I'll start my next and hopefully last round. By then I'm hoping I only have to lose the last 10 pounds.

I'm not sure why the protein days lately haven't worked for me. So I'm back to the normal diet and we'll see how that works. It's that time of the month so that could have something to do with the weight gain and my crazy cravings! Going through the grocery store the other day I felt I could have bought a whole dozen donuts and eaten all of them before I got home! That should have told me something!!!
So far this round I'm down 21.6 pounds. I originally started round 1 at 172.6 so I've lost a total of 32.8 pounds, which on my 5' 2 1/2" frame is amazing. I want to lose another 15. My goal weight is 125, a number I never thought I'd see again, especially after turning 50 this year. So far I've lost a total of 33.75 inches. Over 6 just in my waist! These are the things I concentrate on when I hit a stall or I'm only losing .2 or .4. Helps me to keep from getting discouraged!
I have 9 more days on the drops, although I really feel like I've been on them too long. I've up my drops to 10 4x's a day to see if it will help. I figure even if I don't lose much more, it isn't going to hurt me any to stay on them. I'm supporting both of my daughters who are also on the drops. I will be glad to start maintenance and I've already marked down when I'll start my next and hopefully last round. By then I'm hoping I only have to lose the last 10 pounds.

R2P2 - Day 52
Start weight 161.4
Today's weight 139.6
Gain/Loss -1.0
Down a pound after my apple day yesterday. Decided to do another protein day today. I'm still up .5 from my lowest weight and I have 10 days left on the drops. If the protein day works I may keep it up until it stops working, but I won;t know that until tomorrow.
By the way, a few days ago I mentioned that I had read about some changes to the protocol foods. I contact my source to ask her why the changes and she said that there have been some doctors that have done some research and found that the addition of these new foods have no detrimental effect on the diet. Since Dr. Simeon's diet was started back in the 60's, they felt they had better means to determine if additional food would work as well. She summed it up by saying you can try them but if you have a problem go back to the basics! I may try the new foods lists when I do Round 3, but I think I'll finish this round with what I've been doing.
In case your curious, the new foods included broccoli, zucchini, brussell sprouts in addition to the vegetables already listed, however you are to have 6 oz per meal per day. Added fruits include 1/2 c papaya, 1/3 c honeydew, 1/2 c cantaloupe and apricots. The meats stayed the same for the most part except for steak it has been changed to Fillet Mignon only, and 93% lean hamburger.

6 oz Italian seasoned ground turkey
Interestingly Jenny-O's regular ground turkey is 170 calories per 4 oz, but Jenny-O Italian seasoned ground turkey breast is only 160 calories for 4 oz. It taste like Italian sausage.

Okay....did I say that Sunday night was worth the weight gain......I was sooooo wrong! I only have 11 more days and it's going to take half of that just to get back on track again. So I did an apple day today.....kind of. My willpower right now is non-existent so I also had a handful of macadamia nuts. Then my daughter was experimenting in the kitchen tonight on cake recipes. We're hosting a bridal shower for a friend and she wanted to see what cake she liked so I also had a couple of strawberries dipped in the icing! I have a feeling that tomorrow may not be what I was hoping for as far as weight loss is concerned. I may do another mini-steak day tomorrow again just to see if it will help.

Yup.....dinner did catch up with me, but you know what....it was still worth it! It's amazing how you savor even the simplest food when you haven't been able to have anything but protocol foods. The wine last night was by far the best I've had and I don't even like wine. Thus the 2 glasses!
Decided to do a steak day today but I broke it up into 2 meals. 4 oz New York Strip steak for lunch and 4 oz for dinner with an apple. I'm hoping I can lose what I gained today, but if I don't I'm sure I will the following day.

Why is is so hard to find the calories in raw meat? And why do the calories vary from site to site? It's very frustrating for a rather compulsive person like me. I want it in black and white and I want it to be consistent. Not pick and chose what calorie count you like the best. So I guessed, hopefully an educated guess and on the high side.......maybe.

Okay.....so this loss may be very short lived. Blew it tonight for dinner....big time! Was only going to have the meet and veggies, but they served chili and cornbread.......so you guessed it! I CAVED!!!! Not only did I have chili with cheese, but I also had homemade cornbread and 2 glasses of homemade pomegranate wine....and I don't even like wine! The only good news is that I also had a salad and they served biscotti for dessert. Hey, it's better than cheese cake! So I'm not going to attempt to count my calories......I'm just going to stat again tomorrow! I'm just praying that I don't gain like 5 pounds! May the scales be kind to me tomorrow!!!

Hmmmmm......down another .2 in my ongoing transformation! Decided to try the 'egg'day' today and WOULD NOT recommend it! Yikes. I was starving ALL day! Finally broke down and had some fruit mid day and then again with my eggs at dinner. I'd rather do a mini steak day or even an apple day again before I'd do an egg day. But at least now I know!
A bit worried about tomorrow. We've been invited over to some friends tomorrow night. The first time I've ventured out since I began this round. My will power hasn't been as good as it could be and I hate not eating when every one else around me is. I feel uncomfortable and I know they do to. Therefore.....my delima! My husband says I should eat before we go and explain that I've already eaten, but I'm not really comfortable with that. I'm thinking about not eating today and then being very careful at dinner not to have starch or sugar, but focus on the meat and veggies.
I'm also totally done with this round. I'm staying on it until April 10th to support my daughters. I'd also like to lose a little more weight so when I do round 3 I will only have to do it for the 21 days. I'm hoping only to have about 10 pounds to lose that round plus whatever I gain in the load!
I've also been thinking about adding some walking to my routine for the next 2 weeks. Not anything vigorous, been there done that, but just a leisurely stroll on my treadmill. Can't wait till maintenance to start working out. I've lost so much weight that I really need to start toning! My butt sags!

I make the triple threat tea and at first didn't like it much. It's kind of bitter. But after adding ice and a little stevia, it wasn't too bad. By the time the day ended it actually tasted pretty good.

I had the eggs hard boiled with a little salt and pepper and about 1/2 hour later an orange!
Dinner - 245

I scrambled the eggs with about 1 tbls minced onions and 1 tbls minced jalapenos and then had a little challula sauce on top. It was very good but not really satisfying. About 1/2 hour later had the strawberries.

Well I guess there's nothing for it but to wait till tomorrow and see if I gain after today's fiasco!
